Description

Loom Designs Lao Cotton Scarf Large Indigo Check is the perfect unisex accessory for any season. Gorgeously textured, this 100% cotton scarf is light as a feather, super soft, comfy and warm.

Naturally grown, Lao cotton is soft, beautiful and durable. For centuries, Phu-Tai, Tai-Leu, and Tai Dam ethnic communities have cultivated a native variety of short-fibre cotton.

Skilled artisans in Laos hand spin the 100% cotton yarn, coloured with gorgeous natural plant-based dyes made from locally cultivated plants and herbs. Artisans use traditional wooden looms to create a range of scarves, bath towels, tea towels, hand towels and face washers for Loom Designs. Nothing goes to waste, the scraps at the end of this production are combined with other cotton fabric scraps to make adorable hair scrunchies! Each Loom Designs Lao Cotton Scarf Large Indigo Check is uniquely hand-woven from hand-spun cotton, offering beautiful textures and a gorgeous variety of shades within the natural colours. The ends feature 8-10cm tassles and an attractive net-weave detail.

Dimensions: 40 x 185cm

Material: 100% cotton

Care Instructions: Cold, hand-wash or gentle machine cycle. Drip dry in the shade. It is recommended to wash with like colours or wash seperately for the first wash, in case of any dye run. Please be aware that indigo is particularly prone to dye run on the first wash. Adding a little salt to the water when you wash can help prevent dye loss.

The Loom Designs Lao Cotton Scarf Large Indigo Check is designed in Australia by Loom Designs. Woven on traditional wooden looms by women from the Tai Leu group of Northern Laos. These women work independently, using weaving skills and knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation. Your purchase supports ethnic minority women from artisan communities.
