Description

How would you like a 100% natural cleaner that grows wild in the Himalayas and has been used for centuries in India, China and Nepal? Soapberries are the natural alternative to traditional laundry detergents and fabric softeners. They are often called ‘soap nuts’, but they are not nuts at all, they are in fact the fruit of the Sapindus mukorossi tree.

Simply place a small handful of these amazing soapberries into the small wash bag (included) and throw them in with your laundry . They will leave your laundry clean and fresh for around five washes, no need for any other cleansers or fabric softeners. They’re safe for grey water and septic systems and are non-allergenic. At around 10 cents per wash, why would you use anything else? No really?!

That Red House Soapberries are harvested from wild trees in the pristine Himalayan mountains of Nepal by small local communities. Your purchase supports the ‘Grow Nepal’ initiative which creates a future for the Nepalese people, and encourages sustainable practices across the planet.

Use them for clothes washing, as a liquid soap, for cleaning jewellery or even washing your pets.

That Red House also produces some gorgeous essential oil Laundry Tonic blends if you like a little fragrance in your wash. And yes, we’ve got those too!

Soapberries, the gift that keeps on giving

I use these when we go on holidays, I used to drag around washing powder, with me to apartments or camping, now I just throw in a bag of soapberries and after a few cycles in the machine, off to the compost they go. I also make a soapberry masterstock to wash my kitchen dishes in.

Staff Review: Zero waste laundry game changer!

I have been using these soapberries for at least a year now and I'm still making my way through this bag! They are great value for money and super effective. One of the best things that sets the Red House apart is that their whole supply chain is incredibly thoughtful, ethical and sustainable. Would 100% recommend for anyone wanting to make their laundry routine as eco-kind as possible!

Giving it a go

Never had experience using an alternative product to store bought powder. So rang the store for some advice and was received with very helpful comments. Did my first wash, nice and clean, but definitely need to use some sort of essential oil for a fresh smell. Otherwise I'm impressed :)
